Challenges

Therapeutic gardening and rural crafts for people who experience mental health difficulties

Home Groups of company employees can set themselves a challenge to spend a day, or half a day, at Root & Branch to create something lasting of benefit to our service users while, at the same time, enjoying themselves in the country.  Some examples of what past challenge groups have done are
  • Constructed raised flower beds to help our physically disabled gardeners.
  • Improved the look of the place by painting doors, floors, bookshelves, etc.
  • Laid paths.
  • Tidied up areas that have become run down over the years so that these become useful working areas for our service users.

Some groups just bring themselves and their enthusiasm while others will also raise some money for paints or other materials that they plan to use on the challenge day.  Root & Branch staff or volunteers will be on hand to give direction and advice.

Recent challenge groups have included teams from Zurich, Nationwide, RWE and Thames Water.  See pictures below.
